Still Waters Restoration and Resource Ministries had its official beginning as a non-profit 501(c)(3) ministry corporation in January of 2012, however it was birthed by God in the hearts of two separate couples (John and Michele Sloyer, and Kerry and Lily Bingaman), in two separate places more than ten years earlier.
Growing up the son/grandson of ministers, John together with his wife Michele had always served in key leadership and support roles to the Pastoral staff of the churches they have belonged to, with a burden to one day offer a support and resource ministry to Pastors and churches widespread.
Kerry and Lily’s ministry journey, filled with many joys and sorrows, similarly kindled a burden and ignited a passion for those in ministry, and to one day build a restoration center where Ministry families could come to find help, health and restoration.
When God’s call brought Kerry and Lily to Pastor the Pennsylvania church where John and Michele were leaders, their ministry paths intersected, and would soon run a common course. A cherished and trusted friendship grew, as well as awareness that God had brought them and their similar ministry dreams together “for such a time as this.” The fullness of that time was realized in 2011 When a prophetic word was dropped into the Sloyer’s hearts saying “you will be coming into still waters.” In the midst of great personal, family and ministry difficulty, the Lord was preparing the Bingaman’s hearts, and making clear to them, that “now was the time” for “Still Waters.”
The rest as they say is history!
